Motown produced hit after hit and discovered and produced scores of talented artists, many of whom are regarded as some of the greatest musicians of our time.
Even now, decades after the height of Motown’s success, the booming bass lines, the horns, the vocal harmonies and tales of love, joy, and heartbreak are still loved by people of all ages.
Smokey Robinson and The Miracles were Motown’s first hitmakers but certainly not the last. The Temptations, The Four Tops, Diana Ross and the Supremes, Gladys Knight and the Pips, The Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, and Marvin Gaye all had a part in shaping the Motown sound and etching it into musical history. Truly, world class musicians.
