When The Grooves were formed in 1991 the band became San Antonio’s hottest country band for weddings, rodeos, galas, corporate events, birthday parties and any other event that needs a high energy country band to keep the audience dancing throughout the night. The Grooves are highly recommended for anybody that needs to entertain audiences, large or small, with the best that San Antonio country has to offer. The band also plays other styles if requested including all eras, top 40, rock and Motwn.
The Grooves formed in 1991 and immediately rose to the top of Dallasc country bands with their huge song selection, authentic sound and performances, and ability to “play to the crowd” switching styles and genres to keep the dance floor packed and the energy of the party hopping all night long. The Grooves are one of the best live bands specializing in country music and much more in Houston. A key element to making people flood the dance floor is a great song selection. With a list of over 250 songs, the band knows exactly what San Antonio wants to hear and we play all those country tunes that keep people moving and tuned in all night. We even like when the bride or party planner requests a few songs that they want to hear so that they’re more than happy with how the crowd is responding to our country selection. The band will also throw in some extra songs here and there from other genres just to mix it up a little so that everyone gets the enough country with the right amount of variety. We’ll dish out song after song from our ever expanding list to play music from genres like Motown, swing, pop, latin, r&b, and even reggae.
The Groove’s performance is like a yoga class because we bend and flex in accordance with the agenda for the evening to make sure all the details and accommodations are ironed out. When it comes to wedding receptions, the band usually starts off the dinner hour with slower songs at a low volume so that everyone can enjoy their conversations and then we pump up the volume in our second set with full throttle entertainment which focuses on crowd interaction and a full dance floor. The Grooves engage the crowd with sing-a-longs and line dancing while playing a series of medleys and transitions and has been a favorite of all kinds of San Antonio events since 1991.
The Groove’s attire will conform to whatever type of dress code the event coordinator is looking for. We’ll wear our complete country attire and give San Antonio that Texas country atmosphere they love or even dress up in more formal attire for the gals and Tuxedos for the guys. The band can even dress up in a little something in between and wear our personal favorite outfits like the Texas tuxedo with tux shirts, jeans and cowboy boots, and we’ll of course top off the outfit with classic cowboy hats to fit in with that Texas size country party that keeps San Antonio entertained all night!
We provide professional grade sound and lighting production that exceeds the country expectations San Antonio is accustomed to. The band uses a state of the art mixing board with wireless microphones and an electric drum set that will best suit the acoustic needs of any size room you want to have the celebration in.

The Grooves best suit any party’s needs by being flexible enough to accommodate any size event. The band will fill any size stage and is made up of anywhere from 4 to 10 members. If the event requires a 4 piece band then we’ll provide a lead female singer, backup and lead male vocals, guitarist, drummer and bassist with only 4 people. When the party requires us to go big then we’ll show up with 3 female singers, 3 male vocalists, a guitar player, bassist, trumpet player, sax player, trombone player, baritone sax player and an awesome drummer that keeps the beat thumping all night long. With the best musicians San Antonio has to offer, we’ll keep the crowd dancing no matter what the occasion is.
