No one has played as many venues on the Riverwalk as The Grooves, so we’re sharing what we’ve learned to help your perfect wedding to go off with just one hitch: the moment you say “I do”!

Our Favorite San Antonio Riverwalk Wedding Venues
The Jack Guenther Pavilion
The Jack Guenther Pavilion is a go-to for San Antonio wedding reception venues. The Jack Pavilion allows for an inside or outside wedding reception in case of rain on your wedding day (though, we’re pretty sure the sun will shine upon your big day!). The multiple flexible interior ballrooms and a picturesque outside patio all lend the perfect aesthetic for an elegant wedding reception. The patio is adorned with impressive handmade bronze statues and both the inside ballrooms and patio have great acoustics for a live wedding music band as well as lots of room for a dance floor.

Southwest School of Art
A third popular San Antonio wedding venue on the Riverwalk is the Southwest School of Art. Most
San Antonio cover bands love this venue due to it’s awesome stage in the Chapel. This mixed indoor and outdoor venue has a gazebo on their patio—a gorgeous space with Tuscan vibes—right on the Riverwalk. Plus, it has a classic Gothic church with a ballroom inside featuring a band stand at one end and a sizable dance floor for your guests to dance the night away to the thumping groove of your wedding band!

The Rio Plaza
The Rio Plaza is the perfect event venue to kick off your “ever after”, with space for both ceremonies and receptions. A local favorite among wedding reception locations, Rio Plaza features several ball rooms for both intimate wedding receptions as well as larger parties looking to have a huge blowout with live wedding band, hopping dance floor, and the works. The venue offers nice views of the Riverwalk, the buildings and city lights downtown, and even has a rooftop terrace for the ceremony. There is plenty of room for the live band as well as ample room for a dance floor in most of the ballrooms onsite.

San Antonio Museum of Art
Another option for the artistically inclined (or anyone wanting a unique wedding venue!), the San Antonio Museum of Art offers multiple options of event venues in downtown San Antonio. These include 4 mostly outdoor wedding venues plus the Great Hall, where your guests can appreciate the museum’s permanent collection. All other spaces on the property include gorgeous art installations and manicured, garden-like settings, including the River Pavilion featuring covered patio overlooking the San Antonio River. With the ability to accommodate up to 1,000 attendees, the Museum of Art promises a beautiful wedding and a wedding party for the history books!

The Westin Riverwalk
Located right on the banks of the Riverwalk, The Westin Riverwalk offers a quieter, more intimate setting than some other options, with multiple private outdoor terraces and balconies. As a hotel offering two main room options, the Westin offers an event venue with everything you need: accommodations, ceremony space, and indoor and outdoor reception space. Your guests will feel a sense of elegance from the moment they enter the Navarro Ballroom with magnificent staircase entrance or see The Hidalgo ballroom’s breath-taking ambiance with floor to ceiling windows and Victorian Chandeliers, along with gold leaf mirrors, beautiful wall sconces and silk draperies.
